NEW YORK (WABC) -- A winter weather advisory is in effect for the New York area due to concerns over black ice after Wednesday's winter storm. 

Snow that began overnight transitioned to sleet and freezing rain across the Tri-State area Wednesday, making for incredibly dangerous conditions on the roads and sidewalks. 4 inches of snow and a quarter inch of ice fell in Central Park.

Parts of New Jersey saw close to 6 inches. Danbury, Ct. had 9 inches, and accumulations reached upwards of a foot in areas in higher elevations. The highest reported total was 12.5 inches in Newburgh.http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?section=weather&id=9418734

Right after the flight landed on the soil of NJ airport on Thursday evening, snows started. I didn't go back to my office on Friday but worked at my habitat on Friday. This morning, I got onto my car, I realized that it was 0 deg F. I couldn't remove the ice on the window shield, I turned on the engine and warmed up the car. It took 30 minutes for the ice to melt. I drove extremely slowly in the resident area, as ice was on the street surface. I took some pictures and posted them in this album.
